Fumagillin  is Inhibitor of endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis.  Fumagillin  is applied topically to the conjunctiva in the treatment of microsporidial keratoconjunctivitis

Fumagillin  full chemical name is  (2,4,6,8-decatetraenedioic acid, mono[5-methoxy-4-[2-methyl-3-(3- methyl-2-butenyl)oxyranyl]-1-oxaspirol[2,5]oct-6-yl]ester)

Fumagillin  is produced by the mould Aspergillus fumigatus, used for the control of the microsporidian disease Nosema in honey bees. It also has anti-amoebic and general anti-protozoal function. more info

Fumagillin, a drug once used to treat malaria, is an effective treatment for intestinal microsporidiosis caused by Enterocytozoon bieneusi (June 20th issue of The New England Journal of Medicine N Engl J Med 2002; 346:1963-1969)
